K-9 Healers is a business owned by Gail Furst that specializes in teaching dog training in Nursing Homes. Evaluating animals for AKC Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog International, and implementing programs bringing registered dogs and children together.
This class teaches the dog and handler basic class work using positive reinforcement. Students will learn how to work their dog with distractions, sit, down, stay, heel on a loose leash and more.
This is for those interested in preparing for the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test. The Canine Good Citizen title demonstrates that you and your dog have worked together to become a well respected team in the community. The Canine Good Citizen test is offered at the end of this class.

This is for those interested in the AKC Community Canine Title. This 4 week class will be offered at various locations within the Penn Yan Community. For more details contact Gail.
Offers private consulting to facilities in establishing standards for safe animals visiting programs.
Measures the dogs reaction to staged situations as found in various facilities. These reactions determine suitability and safety of the animal.

Dog training classes are offered in long-term care facilities. This allows the team to train amidst adaptive equipment and allows the residents to enjoy the community and their dogs.
